See the Order Before It Arrives

Watch your site the way you watch your dining room. Who is browsing right now, what is sitting in their carts, when they last added something — and how today is converting, step by step.

What Is Live Activity?

Your orders screen tells you what already happened. Live Activity tells you what is about to. It shows every visitor currently on your site, every cart being built right now with its exact contents and value, and the moment each item went in. A cart that has sat untouched for twenty minutes is visible as a cart that has sat untouched for twenty minutes — not as silence.

Above the list sits the day's funnel: how many people opened the site, how many actually engaged, how many started a cart, how many reached checkout, and how many finished. Each step shows the conversion from the one before it, so a collapse between checkout and completion reads as a payment problem the same afternoon it happens, rather than as a quiet month.

Why It Changes the Shift

Prepare Before the Ticket Prints

A large cart forming at 19:40 is advance notice. Your kitchen sees the shape of the evening while there is still time to act on it.

Catch a Broken Checkout the Same Day

Carts reaching checkout and not completing is the clearest signal a payment step is failing. On the funnel it is one number that stops matching the one above it.

Know When You Are Busy Online

A live count of people on the site, with a minute-by-minute chart of the last half hour. Staffing decisions stop being guesses about the internet.

Recover What Was Left Behind

Abandoned carts are listed with their value, so the ones worth a follow-up are obvious. Signed-in customers can receive an automatic reminder.

How It Works

1

A visitor opens your site

They appear in the live count immediately. Their session starts, and the page they landed on is recorded.

2

They add something to the cart

The cart is mirrored to your board within seconds, with every line, the running total, and the name and time of the last item added.

3

They reach checkout

The row moves to Checkout. If it stops there, you can see how long it has been stuck and what it was worth.

4

They complete the order

The row is marked Completed with the order number beside it and stays on the board for the rest of the day, so the funnel adds up.

What You Get

The live board

One screen for everyone on your site right now and everyone who has been today.

  • Live count of visitors, split by phone, tablet and desktop
  • Every open cart with its items, value and last addition
  • Status at a glance: browsing, cart, checkout, completed, idle, abandoned
  • Filters for carts, completed and abandoned, saved in the address bar

The daily funnel

Five steps, each one a subset of the last, with the conversion between them.

  • Opened the site, engaged, started a cart, reached checkout, completed
  • Step-to-step percentages, so the weak link is the one that stands out
  • Yesterday's totals for comparison, without opening a report
  • Value of both completed and abandoned carts, in your currency

Cart contents on demand

Open any row to see exactly what that person has chosen.

  • Every line with quantity and price
  • When the first item went in and when the last one did
  • Which table, if the visit came from a QR code
  • Language and device, so you know who you are looking at

Built to stay out of the way

The customer's experience is untouched, and the venue's data stays the venue's.

  • Carts stay instant for the customer — nothing waits on the network
  • Visitors who decline analytics cookies are counted, never listed
  • No IP addresses, no location, no cross-site tracking
  • One switch in settings turns the whole thing off

When Operators Use It

Friday evening

Four carts open at once, two of them large. The kitchen starts prep before a single ticket has printed.

A quiet Tuesday

Plenty of visitors, almost no carts. The problem is the menu or the prices, not the traffic — and now you know which.

After a promotion goes out

Watch the visitor count rise in real time and see how far up the funnel the campaign actually carried people.

A payment provider having a bad day

Checkouts stop converting. You see it within the hour instead of in next month's numbers.

Deciding tomorrow's staffing

Yesterday's sessions and orders sit beside today's, hour by hour, so the pattern is the one your venue actually has.

Following up on a big abandoned cart

A large cart left at checkout is visible with its value. For signed-in customers, the reminder email can go out on its own.

Real-Time Restaurant Website Analytics, Built for the Shift

Most analytics tools are built for marketers and report on yesterday. A restaurant runs on the next forty minutes. Live Activity is built for that timescale: it answers who is on the site now, what they are about to order, and whether today's orders are behaving normally — on one screen, updating as it happens.

Server-side carts, without slowing the customer down

The customer's cart stays entirely in their browser and responds instantly, exactly as before. A copy is mirrored to the server in the background, using a browser mechanism designed for exactly this, so nothing the customer does ever waits on the network. The mirror is for your eyes; their experience is unchanged.

A funnel that shows you where you lose people

Totals tell you how the day went. A funnel tells you where it went wrong. Opened, engaged, started a cart, reached checkout, completed — with the conversion between each pair. When one of those percentages drops, you know which part of the journey to look at, and you know it the same day.

Privacy taken seriously, not as a footnote

Visitors who have not accepted analytics cookies are counted in the totals and never appear as individuals. No IP address, device fingerprint or location is stored, and nothing is shared with other venues on the platform. Your privacy and cookie policies are generated with the right disclosures already in them, in every language your site speaks.

Watch your site the way you watch your room

Live Activity is included in the admin panel. Turn it on and see who is on your site right now.
